Mark Hornbuckle began HB NEXT in 1999 as a construction consulting, inspection and training company. Before HB NEXT began, Mark Hornbuckle worked for 20 years with one of largest commercial general contractors in the southeast as a General Superintendent. He headed-up many projects including Concourse ‘E’ at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport where, at peak, he was responsible for 1,500 workers who were striving to complete the construction of the project. This project was completed in 1994 with no fatalities.

Throughout his career, Mark attended safety training classes and, for the most part, all of these classes were being delivered by academia and insurance company instructors that had never stepped foot on a jobsite. This lack of jobsite knowledge in the classroom propelled Mark to make a difference in the construction support industry. Thus, the goal of HB NEXT began to bring field experts to the classroom to train those coming into the construction industry and support the needs of construction firms with quality safety and environmental services.

HB NEXT knew the value of being able to provide effective data management support to construction firms. This would inevitably increase a company’s ROI and keep employees safe.
