Getting Started: New Users

Download and Register

  • Download and install the Clear2 app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  • Complete the registration process by entering your name, email address, a password, and checking the box to agree to the terms of service.
  • Tap Sign Up. Your registration is now active and you’ll be taken to the Login screen.
  • Tap Login. You can now login using the email address and password you created.
  • Allow the app to take pictures and record video, when prompted. This enables facial and voice recognition features of the Clear2 system.

Daily Health Screening 

  • Tap Begin to start the Daily Health Screening. You may also schedule an appointment with a medical professional via Telehealth at this point.
  • Tap CDC Best Practices. Acknowledge and complete this section by reading each item and tapping the acknowledgment button.
  • Tap Health Check. Answer each question honestly and submit your answers.
  • Check your temperature at home or skip it and use the Clear2 Kiosk at your work location.
  • Submit your screening information.

Status, Validation, and Check In

  • Show My Status will reflect whether or not you’ve completed your Daily Health Screening. A yellow screen indicates that your screening is complete needs to be validated at the Clear2 Kiosk at your workplace. A red screen indicates that you are not cleared to enter your work location.
  • Validation allows you to scan a QR code posted at your workplace. You must scan the Validation code and receive Clear2 approval to enter.
  • Check In to your workplace if you leave and need re-enter anytime during the day; scan the Check In QR code each time you return to gain entry. Your validated status will expire before the next workday begins.
  • You must complete the screening, validation, and check in each workday.

If your answers to the Daily Health Screening indicate that you may be affected by COVID-19, you will not be cleared to go to your work location.

  • Alert your supervisor immediately. You may also wish to schedule a Telehealth appointment through the Clear2 app.
  • Show my Status will reflect Not Cleared; you will be unable to move forward in the app or enter a Clear2 location.

Frequently Asked Questions

For Users


Q: What personal information is collected by the Clear2 app?

A: The app does not collect or retain any personal health information about users. 

Q: Will my information be shared with anyone?

A: Your name and email address will not be shared with anyone. Only your Cleared / Not Cleared status will be visible to your company in the Employer Dashboard.

Q: If I’m Not Cleared because I have symptoms of COVID-19 but my test results are negative, will the app reset my status?

A: If you receive a negative COVID-19 test result, simply alert your company’s Clear2 Administrator and they will be able to reset your status.

Q: Does a Clear2 Telehealth appointment require health insurance?

A: No; appointments are scheduled via ESE Telehealth and are charged using one of two options:

 (1) If you do not wish to use insurance, there is a flat rate of $65/session for new patients and $45 thereafter.

 (2) If the patient does want to use their insurance, the patient pays their copay out-of-pocket and the rest is billed to insurance.

Q: Do I have to go through the Health Screening every day?

A: No; you only need to complete the Daily Health Screening on days when you are going to work or to a Clear2 location.

Q: I forgot my password, what do I do?

A: Simply click ‘I forgot my password’ in the app and you’ll receive a reset link at the email address you registered.

Q: Can I go to multiple locations that utilize Clear2 on the same day?

A: Yes; you will need to scan the Check In QR code at each location when you arrive but you will only need to complete the Health Screening and Validation once.

Q: Does the Clear2 Kiosk require power?

A: Yes, a standard 110 outlet is required.

Q: Does the Clear2 Kiosk require a connection to WiFi?

A: No.

Q: Is the Clear2 Kiosk portable?

A: Yes!

Q: Is the Clear2 Kiosk manned or unmanned?

A: The Clear2 Kiosk is designed to function without a human operator, but you may choose to station someone near the Kiosk to assist users.

Q: Can my workplace customize the questions in the app by location?

A: Yes, this feature will be added in the next update. The health questionnaire is based on global guidelines, but you will be able to add custom questions as needed.

Q: What health questions are included?

A: The Clear2 health questionnaire asks a user whether they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. It also asks a series of questions about potential exposure, designed for contact tracing.

Q: How is Clear2 updated?

A: HB NEXT keeps Clear2 content up to date based on the latest guidelines from the CDC. When information or questions are updated, users receive a notification within the app.

Q: Can I access or download data and reports from Clear2?

A: Yes, company administrators will have access to check-in records for tracing purposes.  However, each user’s answers to the health questionnaire are kept private and are only available to the user themselves.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The Clear2 app is free for anyone to download but the tracking features require an annual subscription.  Pricing for the Clear2 Kiosk starts at $1999 per unit, plus a one-time setup fee, but we do have bulk discounts available. We’ll determine your rate when we design a solution based on your organization’s unique needs.

  • Check In & Re-Clear

    • Once validated, each user is cleared to enter and check in at your location
    • Cleared users may re-enter the location or any participating locations throughout the day without having to repeat the process
